Romantic things to see and do in London

And to top off your experience, why not treat your loved one to a romantic hotel stay in London? There are lots of hotels in London which are great for a short, romantic break. From small boutique hotels to luxury 5-star hotels, London has it all.

BuyAGift.co.uk, who are the UK's biggest experience day retailer, offers a varied selection of romantic London breaks for couples. One that I recommend is the 'One Night Stay with a Bottle of Champagne' at The Courthouse Hotel Shoreditch.

Set within a Grade II Baroque building which was at one time the Old Street Magistrates Court and Police Station, the Courthouse Hotel Shoreditch is right in the heart of London's artistic hub. It makes for a great base to explore London's creative neighbourhood.

With interesting architecture and contemporary design, the 5-star hotel features 86 guest rooms and 42 suites. Each of the rooms/suites have been designed with stylish furnishing to provide exceptional standards of comfort and individuality.

We stayed in one of their Hoxton Studio Suite and what a fabulous stay it was. The suite featured a separate living area, a spacious bedroom with a king-size bed, two LED televisions (a 48 inch TV in the bedroom and a 46 inch TV in the living area), work desk with a built-in media hub station, a minibar, laptop-size safe, tea/coffee making facilities and a large wardrobe.

As a part of the BuyAGift experience, a bottle of chilled champagne was also ready for us in the suite.

The bathroom was fantastic - large, spacious, with a bathtub (with a TV) & a walk-in rain shower and luxury toiletries. With a sleek and modern design, this was one of the most calming bathroom suites I have seen.

The entire studio suite presented a decadent atmosphere and had all the trappings of a stylish, luxurious London hotel. Perfect for a romantic stay!

In terms of amenities and extras, the Courthouse Hotel Shoreditch has some aces up its sleeve.
  • Jailhouse Bar - which is set within the former Police Station of the Old Street Magistrate’s Court, offers a relaxed lounging area surrounded by historically significant architecture, including former prison holding cells. The bar stocks and serves a wide array of drinks, cocktails and other beverages. There is also a rooftop terrace bar to enjoy your drinks while taking in the gorgeous scenery.

  • Bowling Alley - a two-lane alley which can be booked by the hour for private parties or events.
  • Cinema Screening Room - Couldn't go to West End to catch a theatre show? No worries, as the hotel has its own state-of-the-art 196 seater screening room. You can book it for an exclusive viewing.

  • Pool and spa - a heated pool with relaxing jet streams and a small indoor waterfall, this is the perfect place to relax after a day exploring London. There are also three treatment rooms and steam & sauna rooms.

We loved our stay at the Courthouse Hotel Shoreditch. The suite was fantastic, the ambience lovely, the facilities amazing and great service, as well. The staff at the reception were friendly and professional as were the members of staff at the concierge desk and in the restaurant.

If you’re looking for a luxurious place to stay in London this Valentine's Day, look no further than the Courthouse Hotel Shoreditch. Ideally located in London's creative hub, the hotel is a great base to explore the city and offers a memorable stay in a fantastic location.
