I love everything about Autumn - the wonderful weather, the beautiful Autumnal colours in hues of yellow, crimson & burgundy, the sound of crunchy leaves beneath your feet and the cool, crisp air. There is nothing better than to get wrapped up warm and head out to explore the beautiful countryside. And just in time for the changing season, Helly Hansen recently launched a new range of jackets & coats - the Lifaloft range. Developed in cooperation with PrimaLoft, the new range is a combination of Lifa and PrimaLoft's extensive knowledge of synthetic insulation.

Helly Hansen gifted me one of these new jackets to test. Having used it over the last few weeks and having loved it, I was keen to share my thoughts with you.

Lifaloft Hybrid Insulated Jacket

First up, let me tell you that this jacket wins top marks for its warmth. If you love warmth, the feeling of being cosy & comfortable, the Lifaloft jacket is an excellent choice. But what surprised me was how incredibly lightweight it is!

The jacket can be worn as a mid-layer or used as a stand-alone jacket. I have been using it as a stand-alone jacket and it's perfect for the English Autumn. It has been designed to provide warmth with minimal weight and bulk.

Some of the key features of the jacket are:

- fiber and down proof fabric construction
- quilted Lifaloft panels with knitted slick face fleece at lower sleeve, side panels and lower front and back.
- full inner front zipper placket for wind protection
- windproof, water resistant and PFC free fabric

The jacket fits superbly, is very comfortable and because of its lightweight nature, it also offers an excellent range of movement which is usually not the case with bulkier jackets. And because of the unique technology and hybrid construction, it offers exceptional warmth too. What I also like about this jacket is that it is very lightweight (the Medium size jacket is less than 400gms) and easily packable. With the unpredictable weather that we have in the UK, should you have to remove and carry your jacket, this one is sure not to burden you with the weight.

And I like the icy hue as well. If you do not prefer lighter shades, the jacket is available in darker colours as well. Overall, I love this jacket! I have worn it pretty much everywhere (from countryside walks to urban jaunts) since receiving it and am quite pleased with it.

Great fit, lightweight, excellent warmth, windproof, water resistant and a modern design!
