The unusually hot weather this Summer has seen Bhavin put these sandals to a lot of use - from short walks in the local park to long days spent outdoors, and so far he absolutely likes them. Let's take a closer look at the Newport Eco.
Build and design: The Newport Eco features a metatomical footbed design that provides excellent arch support while cradling the natural contours of the foot. It has waterproof, salt-resistant leather panels and environmentally-preferred premium leather from an LWG-certified tannery. The sandals look a bit chunky but they are built to last. The patented toe-guard which is a key part of the design protects the toes from any small rocks or twigs while out on your walks. The grip on the soles (multi-directional lug pattern with razor siping) is also very good, whether it is dry tracks or wet & rock-strewn paths.
Fit: The sandals offer a snug and secure fit due to the pull-on lace design. The lack of laces also means that you don't have to worry about the fit becoming loose over time. However, if you prefer a looser fit, it would be a good idea to probably go up half a size.
Comfort: According to Bhavin, the sandals are one of the most comfortable pairs he has ever worn. The sandals are wide enough to offer a comfortable and non-squashy fit. The arch support is excellent and even after long hours of walk or outdoor activity, the feet don't feel tired or pinched. The open to air design allows your feet to breathe better and combined with the Cleansport NXT™ technology (which uses naturally occurring beneficial microbes to reduce odour causing organic material) it ensures natural odour control which is quite welcome. And the best part, the sandals have no break-in period. They are ready to use out of the box!
Durability: Bhavin hasn't had these sandals for long enough to comment on their durability but based on our earlier experiences with KEEN, we can tell that their footwear is always well made, functional and durable.
Overall, the KEEN Newport Eco sandals offer excellent support and comfort. The toe protection with the added benefit of good airflow makes them ideal for countryside walks, wet weather walking, camping trips or general walking. Waterproof, washable, with quick-dry lining and a non-marking rubber outsole the Newport Eco sandals offer good grip on most surfaces and depending on how often you wear them you can expect a good few years of use from them. And priced at £84.99, they are definitely good value for your money.

ReplyDeleteI've never heard of this brand, but they look and sound like a great choice. I don't do much hiking or long walks, but for travelling I think they'd be perfect. The colour is very striking too!
ReplyDeleteThe Keen's sandals looks so good. I have been looking for sandals like that. I have feet problems where I tilt my feet when I walk so proper shoes that cover the sides like these ones are good. I now only use sneakers because I haven't found good sandals yet 🤣 I would definitely check out these more. Thank you so much for the reccommodation.
