When to visit

Spring and autumn are good times for sightseeing, especially if you want to avoid the hottest summer weather. The Mediterranean coast has long, warm summers, while conditions vary across the country.

Getting around

Turkey is a large country, so the best way to get around depends on where you are travelling. Buses connect many towns and cities. Local buses, trams, taxis and organised tours are useful for shorter journeys and sightseeing.

Driving in Turkey
