One of the brand's new offerings, the jacket is available in three colours - Dark Storm (featured), Light Dunes and Washed Turq and has a stylish design. But it is not all style, the jacket packs in a lot of substance too.
The fabric is undoubtedly one of the key features in outdoor waterproofs and this jacket from Mountain Hardwear makes use of the very packable and light-weight Gore-Tex Paclite Plus fabric. It has excellent waterproof abilities and at the same time is very breathable. Plus it is a windproof fabric. All these features ensure that the jacket does its job well whether you are walking in the countryside or hiking in the hills.
The fabric and the construction (fully seam-sealed, drop-tail hem, brimmed hood with adjustable drawcord, loop adjustable cuffs) all help to keep the water out.
Other useful features of the Exposure/2 Gore-Tex Paclite Plus include polyurethane-coated zippers for added water resistance, full-length tricot-lined draft flap to prevent cold air entering inside, concealed hem cinch, harness compatible chest pocket + two hand pockets and articulated shoulder seams. Having worn the jacket over the past two months on several occasions, I have been impressed with it so far. It is very comfortable, breathable, offers good freedom of movement, great weather protection and looks & feels real good. It is pricey (RRP £315) but with an impressive set of features and excellent build quality ensuring a long lifespan, this is a good investment to make.
I can't wait to put it to use on our Wales adventure holiday once we are able to travel.
