Weird Fish Macaroni | Gear Review

Weird Fish's story began in 1993 when the brand was founded with a mission to produce well-made and distinctive clothes that were also well-priced. And 26 years later, the brand's commitment to their founding values still holds strong. Since being introduced to the brand a few years ago, we have grown to love their offerings. Their Charlize striped shower resistant jacket is one of my all-time favourite jackets!

And this time around we are taking a closer look at their Macaroni sweatshirts.

Weird Fish Macaroni was first launched in 1994. According to Weird Fish, "using a neglected collection of knitting machines, they crafted a unique, slow-spun, triple-twist fabric, that looks like its’ namesake".

Weird Fish's unique Macaroni fabric is the opposite of fast-fashion. Long-lasting wash after wash and with zero need to iron, this triple twist yarn is one of Weird Fish's iconic offerings. We put the Parkway 1/4 Zip Tech Macaroni and the Hilltop Macaroni Sweatshirt to test and we are pleased to say both are well-made and stylish products. Versatile and comfy pieces of clothing both are!

Available in a range of colours (blue, dark navy, henna, red dark olive), the Parkway sweatshirt has a fleece-lined neck and cuffs, two hand pockets, zippered pockets on the left chest and left arm and a bungee cord at the hem. The Hilltop also has several practical features like the high neck with a concealed full-length zip, secure zipped pockets to the front body and the upper left arm. Both the items have been beautifully constructed, are very breathable and extremely comfortable to wear. Perfect for all our outdoor pursuits; especially Autumn outdoor adventures where you need an extra layer that is not too warm.

The Parkway Tech Macaroni is priced at £65.00 while the Hilltop Macaroni Sweatshirt is £70.00 and both can be ordered from
