Charlecote Park, Warwickshire | National Trust

The National Trust has some really lovely properties in England. Stately homes, gardens and parks dotted around the English countryside - all perfect for families. Wherever you live in England, I am sure there will be a National Trust property on your doorstep. We have quite a few NT properties within a 2 hours radius from Enfield and we try to visit them whenever we get the chance. Waddesdon Manor (in Buckinghamshire) which is managed by the Rothschild Foundation on behalf of the National Trust is one of our favourites.

Recently we visited another interesting National Trust property - Charlecote Park (in Warwickshire) and loved it. Beautiful rural setting, a house steeped in history (the Lucy family have lived at Charlecote Park for over 800 years and continue to live in one wing of the house even today), picnic gardens, deer park (you can spot new born fawns in July), a tea room and well maintained grounds and outbuildings - it had everything needed for a great day out.

  2. There is something very special about a house that is also a home, but Charlecote Park must have been a home to many servants as well as the family that lived in opulence.
