Cobo Bay Hotel in Guernsey
With a much sought after beachfront location, the Cobo Bay Hotel in Guernsey is the place to head to if you are looking at a relaxing base for a beach holiday. At just 3 miles from St Peter Port, the hotel is well connected to most tourist attractions in Guernsey.
The 3 star hotel with an AA rating has some wonderful rooms with an amazing view of the Cobo Bay. We stayed in one of the rooms in the front and the views from the balcony were beautiful. More of that later in the post. Coming to the room - it was of a decent size with a comfortable bed and other amenities. The rooms are not air-conditioned but then who needs an air conditioner when you have cool gentle sea breeze wafting into your room.
The room was well stocked with tea and coffee facilities and a range of herbal teas. Complimentary still and sparkling water and some fruits were provided on arrival.
The bathroom was clean and well stocked with eco-friendly toiletries. Bathrobes and slippers were provided as well.
The hotel has a beach terrace that offers al-fresco dining and the views from the terrace are beautiful. The food is excellent and the staff are friendly and attentive. The breakfasts were wonderful - there was an array of fresh fruit to choose from. And also a variety of cold food. Hot breakfasts were cooked to order and everything was taken care of perfectly.
The view from the sea-facing rooms are wonderful. The sunsets were especially magnificent. The sky changed its colours every few minutes and one could see a gamut of colours on the sky. If you are planning on staying at this hotel, then try and get a room with balcony and sea view - well worth the price.
The bus stop is very near the hotel and the connectivity is good. You can get buses to most tourist attractions. There are also a number of attractions nearby which can be reached by walk. You can also choose to enjoy your time by heading out for a leisurely walk along the beach like we did. There are some scenic nature trails as well. Overall, a lovely place to spend a relaxed holiday.
