Hainault Forest Country Park

Hainault Forest Country Park, located in Hainault, is one of the remnants of the forest of Essex. Spread over 335 acres - it includes 253 acres of woodland and green pasture land, a large lake and a small farm which houses some rare breeds of animals.

The forest is home to a wide variety of birds - Cormorant, Teal, Tufted duck, Redshank, Robin, Willow Warbler, Wheatear, Black tailed godwit among others. There are more than 125 species of birds found here.

We had been to the forest park last weekend. It was drizzling so we did not spend a lot of time. Just sauntered idly around the lake. But we do plan to go back when it is a bit more sunny for a walk in the forest.

Regular group walks are organised in the forest ranging from easy flat walks at gentle pace to long walks with inclines and variable conditions. If you require any further details regarding these walks, please contact the Hainault Forest Country Park Office on 0208 500 7353

The park is open daily from 7.30am - dusk.
