Flight Club Darts, Bloomsbury
While in London recently, we made our way to Flight Club in Bloomsbury.
Flight Club is a darts-themed bar where you can enjoy a game of darts along with some good food and drinks and a great atmosphere. We were already fans of Flight Club having visited their darts venue in Shoreditch earlier in the year and loving the experience. It was equally as much fun this time around.
Keeping in line with the current situation due to COVID, the venue has been made COVID secure by following the government guidelines. A number of regulations have been put in place including socially distanced groups, pre-ordering and pre-payment for food/drinks (where possible), hand sanitisers throughout the venue, card/app payment only, staff wearing masks, guests also wearing masks when not eating or drinking, and team members on hand to ensure no crowding occurs to name a few.
On our arrival, our details were taken and the changes in the venue explained to us briefly. We were then taken to our oche where a trio of darts (which had been just cleaned) was handed to us. It was good to see that hand sanitiser stations were located in the playing areas as well (near each oche).
For those who are new to Flight Club, it is the world’s first Social Darts venue that has reinvented the game of darts for the 21st century. The traditional game of darts has been given a modern makeover with a unique dart tracking technology, automatic scoring system and a selection of fun, pre-programmed games, all of which make the game an enjoyable and exciting social experience.
An 'oche' is the space from the throw line to the dartboard; as well the seating area, where guests can eat, drink and enjoy the game. There is a touchscreen where you can choose from the different games available and it also keeps track of the score and other player information.
Flight Club has a lovely menu which includes sharing pizza paddles and they cater for vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free diners as well. The drinks menu is impressive as well with a great choice of wines, cocktails, prosecco and champagne.
Please note that due to the current COVID situation they are only offering select items from the menu and guests are unable to order at the bar due to social distancing issues. However, this does not take away from the fun experience at all. The staff at the venue do all that they can to ensure everyone has a great experience.
We chose a vegetarian pizza paddle which went well with the drinks we ordered.
The games are fun. There's Quackshots, Killer, Demolition (my favourite) and Snake n Ladders to name some. Simple, fun games that make you lose track of time once you begin playing them. There is no need for you to worry about the scoring as the system takes care of everything and it even displays slow-motion replays of your best shots!
Once your game has finished, you can stay back to drink/socialise at the venue.
Due to the current social distancing restrictions, the capacity is reduced at the venue and so it is advisable to have a table booking if you plan to stay for drinks after your game.
We had an amazing time at Flight Club Bloomsbury and have no hesitation in recommending it to you. The venue is beautifully done up (in a carnival theme), the oches are semi-private, the games are fun, the food/drinks are good and the overall service is great.
