Antler Prism Cabin Suitcase Review

As you would probably have noticed, we do a lot of short, weekend trips. We prefer to travel light and between myself and the husband, we manage to pack all our stuff in a carry-on suitcase. I like lightweight luggage that is practical and dependable.

Recently, we have been testing the Prism Cabin Suitcase, a lightweight and cabin friendly suitcase from Antler and here are our thoughts on it.

Exterior and Durability

Antler's Prism is very striking to look at. Constructed with Polycarbonate, the suitcase has a hard and glossy burgundy exterior with a lovely shine. Although hard-sided, the suitcase is lightweight (2.2 kg) and easy to carry and lift.

Prism is a 4 wheel luggage. The smooth spinner wheels take the stress and discomfort out of travelling. They are sturdy, very responsive and react well to turns and quick movements thus making the suitcase easy to manoeuvre even in tight spaces.

The suitcase comes with a built-in TSA combination lock. The zippers attach right onto the lock, so you don’t need to have a separate lock. All you need to do is set the lock combination and remember it.

One of my biggest pet peeves with suitcases is wobbly retractable handles. However, on the Antler Prism the double-tube retractable handle is sturdy and smooth allowing easy transportation. A top handle is provided but there was no side handle. Would be nice to see it added in future models.

Interior and Organisation

The interior is lined with grey fabric and is made up of two compartments. There is a zippered panel on one side and the other side has packing straps for securing your luggage. There is also a small zippered area for storing small items. The interior is sufficient to keep clothes for 3-4 days or even longer if, like me, you tend to pack light.

The empty suitcase weighs less than 2.5 kgs, allowing you to pack more stuff in it easily. The size of the suitcase is perfect for my petite frame and I found it easy to negotiate stairs with the suitcase in hand. The ease and comfort this lightweight suitcase provides while travelling cannot be emphasized enough.

Final Word

Overall, the Prism is a nice offering from Antler. The case is both light and strong, looks stylish, rates well on portability and has proved to be quite useful on our travels so far. The best feature is the 360-degree rotating open spoke wheels that give you complete and effortless control. The only additions I would like to see in future models is a side handle and maybe a small external compartment for passports/laptop etc.

The suitcase is ideal for weekend trips and business travel. It retails at £129.00 and is also available in charcoal and teal. And it comes with a 10-year warranty.

  1. Looks like a fab case. Last year, as a family of 4 self catering we decided we could manage on hand luggage alone and we did manage with enough stuff between us, however, I bought the cheapest cabin bags I could find off ebay and you definitely get what you pay for because they were rubbish...they kept falling over and wouldn't stand up properly. Next time, we will invest in something better like this.
