St. Albans Cathedral - A Historical Landmark

Back in August, we had been to St. Albans and one of the places we had visited was the St. Albans Cathedral. The cathedral is the oldest site of continuous Christian worship in Britain and is open all year round. There are free daily tours where you can learn more about the Cathedral from a team of knowledgeable guides. The cathedral is a historical landmark and will interest you if you love history, culture and/or architecture. The cathedral is vast and the stained glass windows, the tall ceilings and the immensely intricate artwork all around are simply fantastic. There is so much history packed into the cathedral.

Even if you are non-religious, you will enjoy the place. It feels very serene and peaceful. I loved the atmosphere, the architecture and also the beautiful flower arrangements throughout the cathedral. If you can, then I recommend that you opt for the free guided tour - they are quite informative. Even if you cannot, then you can simply walk around reading all the inscriptions and looking at everything. It is definitely worth a visit.

More information about out the opening times and history of the cathedral can be found here: www.stalbanscathedral.org
