The Big Book Bubble - London Pride at Valentines Mansion

As a part of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee celebrations an event was organised for kids at the Valentines Mansion Gardens. Called the "Big Book Bubble", the exhibition was a part of "London Pride" and was aimed at kids aged between 2-8 years. However, not just kids even adults were seen enjoying the knitted world of storybook characters.

The Big Book Bubble brought alove pages from the best loved children's literature. Kids could climb through the hungry caterpillars apple or join the Mad Hatters tea party. I liked the "Jungle Book" section. This was London's premiere of the outstanding work of the Materialistics' knitted exhibiton of children's stories.

The exhibition was a collaboration between the Customs House in South Shields and the Materialistics, a group of local knitteres based at the Customs House. The exhibition featured an wide range of awesome display including knitted creations from Hansel and Gretel, Peter Rabbit, The Jungle Book and The Cockatoos among others.
