The Olympic View Tube in Stratford, London

Located next to the London 2012 Olympic Park in Stratford is the View tube. It is a community venue and offers a very good view of the Olympic park. The view tube has been built with recycled shipping containers and has a room upstairs which is sometimes used as a classroom.

The indoor room is used to hold teaching programmes for primary and secondary schools led by London Wildlife Trust and Field Studies Council. A very good initiative. When not in use, you can access the room as it offers very good views of the Olympic park. You can see the main stadium and the "Orbit" - the observation tower in the olympic park.

There is a cafe downstairs and a souvenir shop nearby. The View Tube is open everyday from 9:00am to 5:00pm.

How to get to the View Tube?

The View Tube is located on The Greenway in Stratford. The nearest station is the Pudding Mill Lane DLR. On reaching the Pudding Mill DLR:
- Exit the station and turn left immediately
- Go down short flight of steps and cross the road
- Follow the blue hoardings round to the left
- Go up the tarmac ramp/path to the Greenway
There are directions put up everywhere, so it will be quite easy.
